A LIFETIME OF SERVICE
My journey into public service began 36 years ago in 1987 when I started as a police explorer in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. I have a combined total of over 25 years in law enforcement, firefighting, EMS, military, and security management. I am passionate about serving others as public servant and a Christian.
I am proud to say that I’m a highly decorated Operation Iraqi Freedom - Combat Veteran. I served in the United States Army, 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade. After earning many service medals and awards, was honorably retired on July 25th, 2012.
I previously served for many years with the Caldwell Police Department as a patrol officer, to include duties as their training coordinator, firearms instructor, courtroom bailiff, mental health officer, code enforcement officer, and as a Field Training Officer. Along with serving with the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office for several years reaching the rank of Lieutenant, while responsible for the largest budget, almost 2 million dollars, in Burleson County. While with BCSO I held positions and extra duties such as: Senior Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Mental Health Officer, TCOLE Instructor, Training Coordinator, and Jail Administrator. Currently, I am the Chief Deputy with the Snook City Marshal’s Office, and a volunteer firefighter with the Somerville Volunteer Fire Department.

Here are few of the licenses and certifications I currently, or previously held: Master Peace Officer, TCOLE Instructor, Stop-Stick Instructor, Taser Instructor, Firearms Instructor, License to Carry Instructor, CPR Instructor, Emergency Care Attendant, Emergency Medical Technician, Mental Health Officer, Courtroom Security Bailiff, Death Investigator, Field Training Officer, Jail Administer, Personal Protection Officer, and Commissioned Security Officer.
I graduated as a salutatorian from Lone Star College Police Academy in Houston, Texas. I have 10,083 Texas Commission on Law Enforcement training hours, hold an Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Sociology from Texas A&M University-CT. and I am a member of Alpha Phi Sigma – The National Criminal Justice Honor Society, and SALUTE – The Veterans National Honor Society.
Over the years I have served with many different charity organizations, such as the Warren Lodge in Caldwell, the Burleson County Noon Lion’s Club, and am currently a Road Captain with the Thin Blue Line – Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club that raises money for injured or fallen first responders throughout the Brazos Valley.
